California had the game winning rally in the 9th inning scoring 2 runs utilizing 2 base hits. Jamey Carroll led off the inning for California when he doubled. After an out was recorded, Adrian Beltre came to the plate and smashed a two-run homer (his 20th of the season) giving California the victory as 10,971 happy fans celebrated wildly. California had 11 hits for the afternoon. The win went to Ryan Madson(5-1) who allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings. Duaner Sanchez(2-5) ended up with the loss in relief. 'Now there is a lesson in perseverance for you,' Erubiel Durazo noted. 'It was looking pretty dim there for a while, but we just kept plugging away and it really paid off in spades! And it was great to see the crowd go crazy there at the end!'
